Schillerplatz
01309 Dresden (Blasewitz)
Visit website
Schillerplatz in the Blasewitz district is an important business centre outside Dresden's city centre. It is located south of the access road to the Blaues Wunder. Its current layout dates back to the 19th century - accordingly, most of the residential buildings date from the Gründerzeit. In addition to multi-storey apartment buildings with many shops on the ground floor, there are also the city villas typical of Blasewitz.
Schillerplatz, of course, goes back to the poet Friedrich Schiller; during his time in Dresden, he was a frequent guest in an inn that is now known as Schillergarten and is located below the Blue Wonder. The Blue Wonder is an outstanding sight here, and directly next to it is a landing stage for the Saxon Steamship Company. Opposite are Körnerplatz and the valley stations of the Dresden cable cars.
Transport connection: tram 12, 46 and bus 61, 63, 65 till Schillerplatz
