The Saxon Parliament functions as the building and seat of the state parliament of the Free State of Saxony. The building is characterised by large-scale glass facades and steel skeleton construction, for which it was awarded the Steel Construction Prize in 1994. Since 1997, the building on the Elbe has been completed after several years of renovation.
